Quarterly Future Leadership Team Meeting Hones in on Forthcoming Skills Gap Analysis

Event Recap

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, our 30-person advisory Future Leadership Team met for their regularly scheduled quarterly meeting. This quarter's presentation and discussion was facilitated by Mandi Dolson, Director of Workforce Recruitment and Retention and Nic Hockenberry, Director of Workforce Programming focuses on the forthcoming 2023 Skills Gap Analysis. This annual Skills Gap report, developed in partnership with Northeast Iowa Community College, outlines projected changes and demands in job categories over a seven-county region-Dubuque, Delaware, Clayton, Jackson and Jones in Iowa; Grant County in Wisconsin; and Jo Daviess County in Illinois. To provide feedback for staff and our board of directors, the Future Leadership Team was asked to share their opinion on applicability of the skills gap analysis as a tool to inform employers and partners in the community; overall completeness of the information provided and what if any areas need further investigation; and strategies that exist or should be developed for addressing the skills gaps identified.

The 30 members of the Future Leadership Team serve staggered 24-month terms and provide feedback to the Greater Dubuque Development Board of Directors and management team on annual and long-range strategies to achieve the objectives of Greater Dubuque Development. One member of the Future Leadership Team, Nicole Breitbach of Black Hills Energy, serves as a voting member of the Greater Dubuque Development Board of Directors.
