Our forward-thinking strategic initiatives position the Greater Dubuque region for long-term, sustainable success.

From addressing child care needs to expanding broadband access, we are taking important steps that will make our region a community of choice for years to come.

Child Care

Access to high-quality, affordable child child is both a workforce and a quality of life issue.

Confirmed by the 2022 Child Care Analysis, child care availability and affordability are major barriers to workforce participation. Greater Dubuque Development and its partners continue to collaborate and innovate to face the challenge. Whether it is securing state funding, pooling private investment, or partnering on resources, 2024 and 2025 have meant a boom in new child care slots created and new child care professionals working in Dubuque County.
