Tri-State Economic Development Practitioners Collaborate on Growth

Following a two-year hiatus resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Greater Dubuque Development returned earlier this year to convening area non-profit economic development professionals. Dubbed the “Tri-State Economic Development Practitioners”, the group crosses state lines with representation into Wisconsin with Grant and Lafayette Counties, Illinois with Jo Daviess County, and Iowa with Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, and Jones Counties.

Thus far in our 2023 gatherings, the group has discussed key topics such as workforce housing, immigration, entrepreneurship, and existing business support. The most recent meeting in October was held at the Platteville Business Incubator in Platteville, WI. The group meets on a quarterly basis and has also met in July at the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville and in March at Greater Dubuque Development's offices in Dubuque's historic Millowork District.

These professionals recognize that we can grow more effectively when we share ideas and work regionally, even while maintaining our own identities.
