Hats Off to Prairie Farms Dairy and Progressive Processing / Hormel Foods

Prairie Farms Dairy and Progressive Processing / Hormel Foods Awarded State of Iowa Water Infrastructure Funds

Companies in the Greater Dubuque region continue to demonstrate leadership in creating positive environmental and economic outcomes.  This time, it is Prairie Farms Dairy and Progressive Processing / Hormel Foods, two Dubuque-based companies that are conserving resources while improving their bottom lines, saving over 30,000,000 million gallons of water a year while significantly reducing the operating costs of their Dubuque facilities.

These efforts were supported by matching funds provided through the State of Iowa’s Water Infrastructure Fund (WIF).  This was a one-time grant program, which Greater Dubuque Development identified and paired with local companies that had expressed an interest in economic and environmental improvements to their water utilization.

Creating a more sustainable economy and environment is a Dubuque priority, and companies interested in discovering how local, state, or federal partners can assist in their sustainability efforts are encouraged reach out to Greater Dubuque Development staff.
