A culture of participation

The Greater Dubuque area makes it easy to make connections—join a club or organization, take a class or workshop, or volunteer with a nonprofit that fits your passions! We have hundreds of area clubs and organizations on a variety of topics: advocacy, art, civic engagement, health, youth & family, sports, hobbies, and professional networking. Many national and international civic organizations, such as Young Professionals (YP), Jaycees, Rotary, Kiwanis, Noon Optimists, and others, have chapters in Dubuque that meet weekly and monthly.

Additionally, Greater Dubuque Development, in partnership with Northeast Iowa Community College's Town Clock Center for Professional Development, has created an interactive, hands-on learning experienced called Distinctively Dubuque. This program provides participants with valuable knowledge about the community in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. The program is held four times per year and is FREE of charge.
