Greater Dubuque Development is excited to welcome back Talent Dubuque: An Intern Engagement Program, designed to connect summer interns with each other and the community. This free program provides unique networking and community experiences that help students see how they can live, work, and thrive in the Greater Dubuque region.
Since 2019, nearly 500 interns have participated in Talent Dubuque, gaining valuable professional connections, leadership skills, and firsthand experience of all the Greater Dubuque region has to offer. Welcome Lunch
Thursday, June 12 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Grand River Center | 500 Bell St, Dubuque, IA
Kick off the summer with a networking lunch, meet fellow interns, and receive a Dubuque Welcome Bag featuring $15 in vouchers to redeem at any vendor at the Dubuque Farmers’ Market this summer. The Welcome Lunch will feature a professional development session with Lisa Schaefer, MSE of Shine with Schaefer, LLC. Lisa’s interactive workshop, "Creating an Unstoppable Mindset," will help interns develop confidence, adaptability, and leadership skills to thrive in both their careers and personal lives. Participants will leave with strategies to build resilience, foster strong networks, and embrace a growth mindset for long-term success.
Derby Grange Intern Night
Wednesday, June 25 | 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Breitbach's Derby Grange Golf & Recreation Center | 13079 Derby Grange Rd., Dubuque, IA
Enjoy an evening of mini-golf, the driving range, and batting cages, with Walking Tacos catered by Hy-Vee. This event is designed to foster connections between interns from different colleges and businesses, helping students form meaningful relationships in Dubuque.
Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals (YP) Luncheon

In July, interns will have the opportunity to attend a YP Luncheon hosted by the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce, connecting with young professionals and business leaders in the region. More details will be announced as they become available.
As program participants, interns will receive weekly emails highlighting community events they can participate in on their own, offering even more opportunities to explore the region.
