March AccessDubuqueJobs.com College Career Fair & Internship Fair

Event Recap

On March 29 at the Hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque, 200+ college students from Clarke University, Emmaus Bible College, Loras College, Northeast Iowa Community College, University of Dubuque, and University of Wisconsin–Platteville connected with more than 70 employers at the annual AccessDubuqueJobs.com College Career & Internship Fair. This year's event was also open to the public.

Students kicked off their experience with career services staff from their respective college for orientation to prepare them for networking with potential employers. Students were also offered the opportunity to have a professional head shot captured to use for their social media profiles and future job application materials. Students and the public alike could meet with any and all of the 70+ area employers -- representing everything from manufacturing to hospitality to health care, IT, public safety, and so much more -- to learn about internship and career opportunities here in the Greater Dubuque region.

Professional development breakout sessions were presented by Amy Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer with Challenge to Change, Inc. Sessions explored mindfulness and social / emotional self-care topics and techniques to help combat workplace stress, avoid burnout, and better understand emotional intelligence to prepare oneself to be more aware, intentional, and purposeful in self-reflection and interpersonal interactions.

The annual College Career & Internship Fair was open to all AccessDubuqueJobs.com investors at no additional cost. As always, we appreciate the support of our investors and partners in making this a successful event that reminds area college student that YOU can be great here.
