Global Business Resources for Greater Dubuque Companies

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, Greater Dubuque Development hosted a business breakfast titled "Global Business Help for Greater Dubuque Businesses," featuring the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). The IEDA team and their consultants represent Iowa's business opportunities across the globe, with a focus on markets in Mexico, Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Northern Asia.

During the event, IEDA delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining state-level services for international trade, as well as grant funding opportunities available to Iowa companies. These grants can assist businesses in attending international trade shows, developing marketing strategies, and covering professional fees associated with global expansion. Following the presentation, the IEDA team toured manufacturing businesses in Dubuque, Peosta, and Dyersville, culminating in a visit to the iconic Field of Dreams.

As an advocate for expanding global business opportunities, Jason White, Vice President of Business Services for Greater Dubuque Development Corporation, serves on the Iowa District Export Council (IDEC) board. Later that morning, he attended the IDEC's board meeting which included presentations by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the EXIM Bank, which highlighted federal resources for export and international technical assistance, as well as financial support available on the federal level.

For CEOs and HR professionals looking to expand their businesses internationally, events like these provide crucial insights into both state and federal resources that can drive global growth. Whether your company is new to international trade or seeking to increase its global footprint, Greater Dubuque Development and the IEDA offer the support needed to navigate these opportunities.

Because YOU can be great here, Greater Dubuque Development is committed to connecting local businesses with the tools and resources needed for success in the global market. Together, we can strengthen our region's presence on the international stage while fostering local economic growth.
