On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Greater Dubuque Development Corporation’s Future Leadership Team held its quarterly meeting. The focus was on reviewing the outcomes of the Board of Directors Strategic Planning Session facilitated by the Institute for Decision Making at the University of Northern Iowa on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. The team discussed key takeaways, including the four primary goals identified, and explored strategies for achieving them.
Rick Dickinson, President and CEO of Greater Dubuque Development, opened the discussion with an overview of the planning session. Antonio Mouzon, serving as the Future Leadership Representative, shared insights from his participation in the session, emphasizing the significance of these goals in shaping the region’s future.
The group then broke into teams, with each assigned one of the strategic goals to brainstorm actionable strategies. The goals were:

Following the breakout sessions, teams shared their ideas, leading to a collaborative discussion on the most impactful strategies. The insights generated during this session will help shape Greater Dubuque Development’s ongoing efforts, ensuring that strategies align with the region’s needs and opportunities. These ideas will be shared as part of the discussion at Greater Dubuque Development’s Board of Directors meeting in March 2025.
The 30 members of the Future Leadership Team serve staggered 24-month terms and provide feedback to the board of directors and management team on annual and long-range strategies to achieve the objectives of Greater Dubuque Development. One member of the Future Leadership Team serves as a voting member of the Greater Dubuque Development Board of Directors. The next scheduled quarterly meeting is Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
