Fueling Employee Engagement: HR Professionals Cohort and Call for Speakers

The quarterly, HR Professionals Cohort brings area HR professionals together for peer-facilitated learning and discussion at Northeast Iowa Community College’s Town Clock Business Center in downtown Dubuque. Offered as a complimentary benefit to Workforce Solutions Investors, the cohort provides participants with an opportunity to step away from day-to-day responsibilities, connect with colleagues, and exchange experiences, ideas, and challenges.

During the August cohort, Eric Shelley, Assistant Vice President–Development at Fidelity Bank & Trust, facilitated a discussion on “Fueling Employee Engagement.” The session encouraged participants to share the trends, successes, and challenges they are experiencing within their own organizations.

This peer-to-peer format is central to the cohort’s value, creating space for HR professionals to learn from one another, discuss effective practices, and engage in candid conversations with colleagues who understand the demands of the profession.

Greater Dubuque Development is currently seeking a speaker for the next cohort, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026. HR professionals are invited to share a lesson, topic, or experience that could benefit their peers. Scheduling flexibility is available if the proposed date presents a conflict.
