Dear Fellow Business Leaders:
As you look on page two, you will find a sampling of the accolades that have been showered on our region. When recognized by Forbes and Moody’s as being among the “best of the best” in job growth through 2012, you know that the Greater Dubuque area is on the right track.
Back in 2007, more than 160 community leaders and corporations joined together and invested over $7 million in the Destination for Opportunity campaign – a bold plan for job creation, improved wages, commercial construction, and population growth. Despite the worst recession since the Great Depression, your economic development team at Greater Dubuque Development has delivered.
In many communities, these achievements would foster complacency; a collective sense that “We’ve made it!” Instead, we ask the questions:
“Where do we go from here? What’s NEXT?”
NEXT is not just the title of our new campaign; it is a strategy to make the Greater Dubuque area a model for economic prosperity in America. Using a five-year framework, will provide the resources necessary to continue our award-winning efforts in business retention and expansion, national marketing, and workforce solutions. With the strong public-private partnerships that thrives in our region, along with one of the top economic development teams in the country, we will fullfil our mission and accomplish our goals.
NEXT is your opportunity to make a significant impact on our region’s future. Your investment in is more than a financial commitment; it is a partnership with hundreds of like-minded area employers and leaders who share a common vision of the
future for the Greater Dubuque area.
In this PDF, David Becker, past chair of the Destination for Opportunity campaign, will provide a summary of our past success. In addition, Greater Dubuque Development’s President & CEO, Rick Dickinson, will introduce the goals of the campaign and the talented team that will execute the fundamentals to achieve success.
It is my privilege to lead this campaign to shape Dubuque’s future. I ask that you join me and your peers in helping to bring what’s to Greater Dubuque.
