Broadband Expansion

In today’s world, having access to reliable, high-speed broadband internet is a necessity.

Working with public and private partners, we have doubled conduit, quadrupled fiber, and increased the number of providers in our community from two to ten.

Child Care Solutions

For young families in Dubuque, an ongoing shortage of child care options has long been identified as a major concern.

The lack of viable options has forced many parents to stay home, exacerbating a workforce shortage that has plagued local businesses. Greater Dubuque Development is committed to addressing these needs – and signs of progress are already visible.

Child Care Solution Takes First Steps

In an effort to increase child care opportunities, Governor Kim Reynolds recently awarded $26.6 million through The Child Care Business Incentive Grant to 23 projects across Iowa. Three of those projects are in Dubuque County and account for nearly $7 million of the awarded grant funds, marking a major step forward in our efforts to close the local child care gap.
