A Collaborative Approach to Workforce Development

Collaboration is key among partners to successfully address the full scope of workforce challenges within a community. Greater Dubuque Development has taken workforce development strategy to the next level through a cutting-edge workforce development umbrella entitled Dubuque Works. This regional partnership brings employers, funding partners, workforce experts and educators together to meet the workforce needs of local employers. Dubuque Works focuses on three goals:

  1. 1. (Human Capital): Partners identify and address recruitment, retention and relocation needs as defined by greater Dubuque employers;
  2. 2. (Skill Development): Partners build workforce capacity by enhancing training pathways to meet employer demand;
  3. 3. (Collaboration & Evaluation): Partners combine collaborative workforce efforts with quality research to generate evidence-based practices that improve performance and outcomes for local employers.
