Business and residential customers on the south side of the City of Dubuque including parts of the Dubuque Technology Park are serviced by Maquoketa Valley Electric Cooperative. The remainder of the City of Dubuque and surrounding areas are serviced by Alliant Energy.

Maquoketa Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC) Company Overview: MVEC is a true cooperative, organized in 1935. It is a private, non-profit electric utility owned by the members it serves and was established to provide reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost as well as other non-utility related products and services. Today, the membership covers a range of home, farm, business and commercial customers in Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, and Jones Counties as well as portions of Buchanan, Cedar, Clayton, Clinton and Linn Counties.
